Starting point: upstream from Ommen

This ride follows the Vecht upstream from Ommen, heading east. You soon leave the Hanseatic town behind and cycle through a landscape that alternates between river meadows and small woodland plots.

Along the way: the hamlets of Beerze and Junne

You pass the hamlets of Beerze and Junne, two of the quietest spots in the valley. Small estates lie against the river here; expect old farmsteads, reed banks and the soft sound of flowing water.

Highlight: the turning point at Marienberg

At Marienberg you turn and ride back along a different line. The scene keeps changing along the way: forest, field, a glimpse of the Vecht and another village. The variety makes the distance feel light.

Good to know

  • A longer route; an e-bike makes the 44 km relaxed.
  • Paved with the odd estate path; follow the nodes.
  • Dogs in a basket or trailer are welcome; much calm along the way.

From Paping Hotel & Spa

From Paping Hotel & Spa you set off in the morning and return in the late afternoon. The spa and a quiet dinner round off the day. A ride that shows how quiet the eastern Vechtdal still is.

This route is still being finalised — the GPX download and exact coordinates will follow soon.
